US Cellar Systems Low Ambient Kit (LAK) protects condensing units installed outdoors from moderate to extreme cold extending the life of the components.
The (LAK) should be used in areas that see near or below freezing temperatures for
more than a few days a year. In the winter months chilling to freezing conditions can
cause viscosity changes to the oil in the system. This can decrease performance or
even permanently damage the compressor.
Such damages are not covered as manufacturer defects. With shifting climates we
strongly recommend an LAK for all of our systems.
